AISI 441 stainless steel strip
Ti-Nb stabilised ferritic, for high temperatures and exhaust systems.

Description
AISI 441 (EN 1.4509, X2CrTiNb18) is a ferritic stainless steel with about 18% chromium, low carbon and stabilised with titanium and niobium. Dual stabilisation improves weldability and resistance to intergranular corrosion and gives good resistance to oxidation at high temperature. It is magnetic, nickel-free and has lower thermal expansion than austenitic grades: this is why it is widely used in exhaust systems, heat shields and high-temperature components, often as an alternative to more expensive austenitic alloys. 3S supplies AISI 441 precision strip annealed 2R/BA, as strip, narrow strips from 3 mm, coils and sheets from 0.05 to 0.70 mm.
Properties
- Titanium and niobium stabilised: good weldability
- Oxidation resistance at high temperature
- Nickel-free: more stable cost
- Magnetic, low thermal expansion
