AISI 316L Mo+ stainless steel strip
Higher molybdenum (2.5–3%): the highest corrosion resistance in the 316 family.

Description
316L Mo+ (EN 1.4435, X2CrNiMo18-14-3) is a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel with molybdenum in the 2.5–3% range and higher nickel than standard 316L. The result is superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, very low ferrite content and particularly stable austenite with reduced magnetic permeability. It is the preferred grade for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical and chemical applications where purity and corrosion requirements are most demanding. 3S supplies 1.4435 precision strip mainly annealed 2R/BA and, on request, work-hardened 2H, as strip, narrow strips, spools and sheets from 0.05 to 0.70 mm (annealed) and from 0.05 to 2.50 mm (work-hardened).
Properties
- 2.5–3% molybdenum for higher pitting resistance
- Stable austenite and low magnetic permeability
- Low carbon for welded components
- Suited to pharmaceutical, medical and chemical uses
