Description
AISI 321 (EN 1.4541, X6CrNiTi18-10) is a titanium-stabilised chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel. Stabilisation prevents sensitisation and intergranular corrosion after welding or during service in the temperature range where unstabilised austenitic grades are vulnerable, roughly 450–850 °C. It also offers good mechanical and creep properties at elevated temperatures. It is used for exhaust manifolds and components, expansion joints, bellows, heat exchangers, furnace parts and aerospace and thermal components. 3S supplies AISI 321 precision strip in the annealed 2R/BA condition, as strip, narrow strips from 3 mm, spools and sheets in thicknesses from 0.05 to 0.70 mm.
Properties
- Titanium-stabilised, resistant to sensitisation
- Suitable for service at intermediate temperatures
- Good weldability
- Ideal for exhausts, bellows and heat exchangers
