Springs

Stainless steel strip springs store and release elastic energy. Strip is used to make flat springs, leaf springs, spring washers, retaining rings and spiral springs, which must retain their return force over time and resist corrosion.

The stiffness of a flat spring rises with the cube of its thickness, so even a few microns of variation noticeably change the return force. That is why we supply stainless steel strip in the work-hardened 2H condition, with mechanical properties defined for the application, thicknesses up to 2.50 mm (typically 0.20 to 0.60 mm) and tolerances to EN or ASTM standards, verified by 100% dimensional control. Edges can be deburred to reduce fatigue crack initiation points. For automated stamping and forming lines, the strip is supplied on spools with parallel or traverse winding, in the width you need from 3 mm upwards, reducing coil changes and keeping production running steadily.

Frequently asked questions

Request a quote
Which temper is best for stainless steel flat springs?
Flat and leaf springs normally use work-hardened 2H strip, with strength and hardness chosen to suit the required force and bend radii. Send us your drawing and performance targets and we will propose the most suitable grade and temper.
Can you supply the strip on spools for automated stamping?
Yes. We supply spools with an inner diameter of 50 to 400 mm and weights from 15 to 1500 kg, with parallel or traverse winding, to feed the press continuously and cut downtime.
