Contact springs and clips

Small stamped and bent components that must grip or ensure constant contact: fastening clips, retaining clips, earthing blades and contact springs. The strip must bend without cracking and retain its force over time.

A clip must be hard enough to grip, yet ductile enough to bend without cracking. The balance depends on the temper, the thickness and the orientation of the bend relative to the rolling direction. 3S supplies work-hardened 2H stainless steel strip with consistent mechanical properties from batch to batch, in narrow widths from 3 mm and typically thin gauges, with EN or ASTM tolerances and 100% dimensional control. Deburred edges make manual assembly safer and reduce burrs on the finished part. The strip is available on spools for automated stamping lines or in cut lengths for smaller runs.

Frequently asked questions

Request a quote
Can 2H strip be bent through 180° without cracking?
That depends on the ratio of bend radius to thickness, the chosen strength and the bend direction relative to rolling. Tell us the part geometry and radii and we will define the right temper together.
What is the minimum width you can supply?
We slit narrow strip from 3 mm wide, with slit or deburred edges, on spools or in cut lengths to suit your feeding system. Tell us your feed system and we will advise.
