Electronics and connectors

Terminals and contacts produced by high-speed progressive stamping. Precision strip ensures consistent dimensions part after part and a clean surface for any subsequent plating.

In high-speed progressive stamping, any variation in thickness, width or camber turns into pitch errors, out-of-tolerance parts or press stoppages. For terminals and contacts we supply precision stainless steel strip from 0.05 mm thick, with tight thickness and width tolerances to EN or ASTM and 100% dimensional control. The bright annealed 2R/BA finish provides a smooth, clean surface suited to subsequent plating. For automatic presses the strip is available on traverse-wound spools, which hold long lengths in a single winding and reduce joints and changeover times. Consistent mechanical properties between batches also help keep the die set-up stable over time.

Frequently asked questions

Request a quote
What is the minimum thickness available for contacts?
We supply stainless steel strip from 0.05 mm thick, in narrow widths from 3 mm, with thickness and width tolerances to EN or ASTM standards.
Is the 2R/BA surface suitable for plating?
The bright annealed 2R/BA finish has a smooth, clean surface that is generally well suited to electroplating. Pre-treatment remains with the plater, with whom we recommend confirming the requirements.
