Non-implantable medical

Medical devices and instruments that do not remain in the body: surgical instrument components, parts for single-use devices, springs and blades for diagnostic equipment. Surface cleanliness, traceability and corrosion resistance are what matter.

For surgical instruments and single-use devices, the material must be documented at every step: grade, batch, mechanical and dimensional properties. 3S supplies stainless strip in bright annealed AISI 316L and 304, in work-hardened AISI 301 for spring components and in other grades on request, in a 2R/BA finish with a smooth, clean surface that eases subsequent cleaning and passivation. Thicknesses from 0.05 mm, narrow widths from 3 mm and tight tolerances to EN or ASTM are verified by 100% dimensional control. Every batch is traceable and can be accompanied by a 3.1 certificate. Spools or cut lengths suit both automated stamping and smaller production runs.

Frequently asked questions

Request a quote
What does the 3.1 certificate contain?
The EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate states the batch, chemical analysis and mechanical properties of the material supplied. We issue it on request, to be specified when ordering.
Is the strip suitable for implantable devices?
No, our strip is intended for non-implantable devices and instruments. For these applications we supply batch-traced material, with a 3.1 certificate on request. Every batch also undergoes 100% dimensional control.
